This fall the Toxic Avenger will come face to face with his evil duplicate, The Noxious Offender, in a five-part, can’t-miss comic book event extravaganza by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist writer Matt Bors and acclaimed artist Felipe Sobreiro. The series, titled THE TOXIC AVENGER VS. THE NOXIOUS OFFENDER, will mark the first ever appearance of the Noxious Offender in a comic book series. To commemorate this event, AHOY Comics and legendary independent movie studio Troma Entertainment will release a series of collectible variant covers, including a main cover by Bors, a photo cover from Troma Entertainment, and an homage cover to a classic comic by artist Greg Scott (High Heaven). TOXIE VS. NOXIE #1 will ooze its way into a store near you this October 2026!

“Using the dark universe counterpart to play off a hero is a longstanding comic book tradition—and with TOXIE VS. NOXIE, Matt and Felipe stretch it out, subvert it, and take it to the extreme,” said Editor-in-Chief Tom Peyer. “Noxie is a product of bad parenting, automatic weapons, and screen time; he's Toxie's twisted brain matter, raised on hate, and gunning for anyone who sees a future worth having. His warpath of self-destruction extends through the multiverse… and the sickest part might be that the people of Tromaville start to love it.”

Syracuse-based indie publisher AHOY Comics and Troma Entertainment have been on a toxic tear with their line of acclaimed comic books spearheaded by Matt Bors, including THE TOXIC AVENGER COMICS with art by Fred Harper and THE TOXIC CRUSADERS with art by Tristan Wright. The latest addition to the Toxie revival’s stacked roster is a no-holds-barred showdown between New Jersey’s finest mutant and his super evil duplicate: The Noxious Offender. Featuring art by series artist Felipe Sobreiro, TOXIE VS. NOXIE makes the comic book debut of the Noxious Offender in a comic, following his iconic introduction in Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV, the fourth installment of The Toxic Avenger franchise.

“We have thrown mutant bullies, aliens, and cyborg Nazis at Toxie—and now he will face his biggest threat in a deranged, murderous doppelganger who knows his mind, wants to take over his life, and uncork every dark impulse in Tromaville,” says writer Matt Bors. “As Noxie takes over Tromaville, he seems to give people permission to engage in their darker impulses, violence, and conspiracism. Parenting, mutant pregnancy, and themes of social cohesion are the name of the game. TOXIE VS. NOXIE will be in turns gross, funny, and brutal—with an unsettling undercurrent that asks how capable each of us might be of mind-bending violence if the circumstances were just bad enough.”

An evil duplicate of Toxie appears in our dimension… How he came to this main universe, and why, is a mystery—but it seems to relate to Toxie’s long-lost estranged dad, who left him and his mother when he was five, suddenly showing up trying to be involved in his life. Meanwhile Toxie’s girlfriend Yvonne is pregnant with Toxie’s mutant baby and the two are deciding to become young parents. Toxie wants to become a father—and a good one—but first he must confront his dark side, who begins ruling Tromaville in his name and changing the rules. Will Toxie and Yvonne save Tromaville from—er—himself? Will Toxie be a better father than the disastrous Hugh J Payne? Will the real Toxic Avenger please stand up?!
