Bubblegum Kids at NYCC

 

Last year, the great folks at Bubblegum Kids sent me a few flavors of gum to sample. I enjoyed reviewing those flavors on this site, and highlighting their greatness on social media. Chewing Popeye's Spinach With the Bubblegum Kids

 

After a recent checkup, my doctor recommended more iron. She wanted me to get it from my meals rather than take a pill. So my mind drifted back to my childhood, when I watched Popeye cartoons. I can't say I ever developed a love of canned spinach, but Wimpy's love of hamburgers definitely caught on!

Instead of having my usual (Swee)pea and carrots with my eggs, I added Popeye's favorite vegetable instead. My wife started buying fresh spinach a while back when the Blood Bank said she needed more iron in her diet. Provided I don't cut my finger while chopping it, I'll follow along.

Say, I wonder if I should cook my eggs in Olive Oyl?

 

Bluto can point out that the doctor's list didn't include donuts. Still, I figured if it had green sprinkles on top, it should count. Plus, the lentils were on her list!

Popeye Spinach gum from Bubblegum Kids has a light, sweet flavor. I enjoy chewing it when I walk. It keeps my mouth moist, and lessens the temptation to eat candy. Even if it isn't high in iron, it helps make my leg muscles as hard as Popeye's.

Plus, I love the sparkly green color! It's cool!

Thanks to Bubblegum Kids for letting me sample their Popeye Spinach flavor! It's fun, and brought back some great childhood memories. I'll gladly tell you about them on Tuesday for a good chew today. Say, it is Tuesday! Did I ever tell you about the time Popeye and Wimpy... 

Hannah's Frozen Banana Gum from Bubblegum Kids

When I told you about the fun new flavors Bubble Gum Kids had for sale, they offered to send me a few samples. I requested three flavors: Popeye, Birthday Bear Cake Batter and Hannah's Frozen Banana. I figured they'd send me a few sticks of each gum in a small box or envelope. Instead, the great folks at Bubble Gum Kids sent me this box!

But then, sometimes shipping companies pack excessive stuffing in large boxes because they stock limited sizes. Still, the box felt fairly heavy.

My eyes lit up when I saw all the samples they sent!

There was a lot more than three flavors!

They sent samples of several flavors. They all looked yummy!
