I've loved 2001: A Space Odyssey ever since I saw it on a giant cinema screen at a 1980s science fiction convention. (Yes, it was a giant screen, larger than most you'll find in today's multiplex theaters). The Smithsonian's National Air And Space Museum recreated Dr Dave Bowman's neoclassical bedroom a few years ago, and I got to walk through it. Thankfully, the surreal experience didn't induce rapid aging!
