Worst Man Graphic Novel Announcement

Here's something Titan's got in the works. Sounds fun!

TITAN COMICS INVITES YOU TO A WEDDING OF CHAOS AND COMEDY IN WORST MAN GRAPHIC NOVEL FROM BRANDT&STEIN

Titan Comics is thrilled to announce the acquisition of WORST MAN, an original graphic novel from Eisner and GLAAD-nominated creators, Brandt&Stein (Crowded, DC Pride, Darkwing Duck).

Slated for release in 2026, this original graphic novel is a rollercoaster of laughs, mishaps, and mayhem where protagonist Radcliffe Raleigh has 32 hours to sabotage a wedding, or else suffer unimaginable consequences.

On a remote island, professional 'Worst Man', Radcliffe Raleigh is hired by the Mother of the Bride, and he's ready to pull out every trick in his arsenal to stop the wedding of Domino McElligott and Battista Lovely... until he meets the Best Man, Chris Kafka. Determined to keep the Best Man close for…uh…purely professional reasons, Raleigh quickly realizes he may be on the wrong side of the aisle and the only 'mistake' needing to be rectified is of his own making.

“We’re so grateful to be working with everyone at Titan,” say Brandt&Stein. “Worst Man is a love letter to story types we love: heists, farces and romcoms. That’s a lot for one book and we couldn’t be happier that we found some folks who trust us to harmonise them all.”

"Worst Man is one of the most exciting projects I've been a part of,” says Editor, Phoebe Hedges. “Brandt&Stein have penned a masterclass in pacing and character and reading through the first draft, there were moments where I forgot I was supposed to be editing! Prepare to laugh, prepare to cry, and prepare to put aside a good few hours for this book because you won't be able to put it down."

WORST MAN is set for release Summer 2026, and will be available for pre-order from comic shops, bookstores, and digital platforms soon. Look out for more information coming soon.

Online dating can deliver a dream or a disaster. A new home can usher in tranquility or tragedy. What will Kristin and Agnes discover when they open new chapters of their lives? Let’s leap into Creepshow Vol 3 #5 and find out!

Story: Tent Revival

Jeff likes hunting and camping. But Kristin is surprised when he takes her on a backpacking trip. So many men have lied in their online profiles that she has considered closing her account. But Jeff is the outdoorsman he professed to be. When they reach a clearing facing the lake, Kristin revels in the sunset. But as night falls, and they sit by the fire sharing their tattered dreams of finding love, a woman walks through the trees and asks if she can join them by the fire.

For this first story in Creepshow Vol 3 #5, Ed Brisson delivers a classic Teens In The Woods horror tale. Kristin suspects that Angie isn't on the level. But who can she call on for help? Tent Revival reminds us that there is a natural order and that violence knocks that system out of balance.

Art: Tent Revival

While Jeff strides ahead, Kristin holds back, leaving ample space between them on the narrow path. But once they reach the clearing, she pushes past him to stand near the rocky edge. Instead of looking away from him like on the path, Kristin watches Jeff build the fire. She wraps her arms around him as they sit on the log. Jeff and Kristine shoot to their feet when a shadowy figure creeps up. But illuminated by the fire, they resume their seat, clutching each other, as Angie makes her request.

Kael Ngu’s panels resemble oil paintings in Creepshow Vol 3 #5. While Kristin sports pink and yellow, Jeff embodies the bulk of Ngu's palette in his ivory, gray, black, and red. The yellow fire forms a link to Kristine's boots and the jacket tied around her waist. After the first page of daylight, red seeps into the surrounding darkness. It makes Kristine's lips and hair glow. Crimson also colors Jeff's shirt collar. Disturbingly, red lurks everywhere in Tent Revival. It lingers on the edge of Jeff’s axe, adorns wood, suffuses leaves, and speckles characters and backgrounds.

Story: Prize Possession

Despite warnings of a mysterious death, a couple buys a house along the cliffs. Amid the grandeur of the three-story Victorian house, trouble sets in. When Mom and Dad celebrate their daughters' birthdays, Agnes likes her present, but Katherine disdains hers. Her parents don't know how to ease Katherine's growing unhappiness. Katherine seems determined to terrorize Agnes.

Kami Garcia tackles sibling rivalries and bullying in this second story in Creepshow Vol 3 #5. Prize Possession is a reminder that everything has a spirit, and we should notice how places and objects affect us. The story also pits rationalism against spiritualism. Like Star Wars, Prize Possession reveals the power (and costs) of embracing the Dark Side.

Art: Prize Possession

Isaac Goodhart begins by taking a leaf out of Wes Anderson's book. Panels reveal interior scenes within an exterior shot of the house while a raven watches the empty porch. Mom runs the household with her opening declaration, photographing the birthday party, and intuiting Katherine's emotions from her body language. When Dad tries to reason with Katherine, Mom lays down the law, just as she dismissed a local's reservations during their viewing. Agnes only gets a few moments of guarded happiness and clings to her doll.

Miquel Muerto brings a bright, cheery palette to Goodhart’s traditional comic art in this second story in Creepshow Vol 3 #5. Anges wears blue overalls and a white shirt, a pink nightshirt, and a white dress, while Katherine wears a black dress in the first half of Prize Possession. Later, she relaxes in black and gray. Her red sneakers link with the words in Agnes' diary.

Lettering & Additional Creep Art

Pat Brosseau lavishes black, uppercase words in ivory dialogue balloons and narrative boxes. The letters grow bold for inflection, swell for volume, and rarely shrink. Sound effects help us hear a hardworking axe and a character getting her just desserts.

Michael Broom introduces Tent Revival with the Creep backpacking through the woods toward a skeleton. After forging this link with Jeff, the Creep ends the story by toasting marshmallows like Angie. He hovers over the Victorian house in Prize Possession, anxious to show his prized doll house. But the Creep closes this tale of domestic disharmony by revealing that appearances can be deceiving. Thanks to Image Comics and Skybound for providing a copy for review.

Final Thoughts

Kristin and Agnes discover that they are cherished and wanted. Kristine and Angie feel wronged. As in Friday The 13th and Dark Shadows, vengeful spirits haunt picturesque settings in Creepshow Vol 3 #5.

Rating 9.6/10

Welcome To Ghost Mansion Vol 1 Review

Writer, Artist & Cover Artist: Nebukuro

Translators: Motoko Tamamuro & Jonathan Clements

Letterer: Ayoub Bensidi

Publisher: Titan Manga

Price: $12.99

Release Date: January 29, 2025

Kaori Shinonome spent her youth supporting her parents. She didn't have time for friends or money for hobbies. Now, Kaori wants to make a life for herself. So, when she finds an affordable apartment building, Kaori buys it. It's a fixer-upper, but she can rent the best units while repairing the rest. Will apartment ownership help Kaori enjoy life more? Or will her dream become a nightmare? Let's grab a bottle of sake, strap on our proton packs, leap into Welcome To Ghost Mansion Vol 1, and find out!

Story

Trouble threatens her dream when someone calls from Jellyfish Estate Agents. The prospective renters claim a ghost reached out and touched them. They can even show Kaori a photo of the ghost on their phone. Shocked, Kaori thinks of the sixteen apartments she hopes to rent and her 35-year mortgage. Suddenly, instead of rental income flooding in, Kaori wonders how many jobs she must undertake to avoid going bankrupt.

Unlike Peter, Ray, and Egon, Kaori Shinonome doesn’t know how to capture and remove ghosts. Might a butterfly net and insecticide eradicate her ectoplasmic squatters? Desperate for help, she visits a nearby shrine for help in Welcome To Ghost Mansion Vol 1.

Like her apartment complex, the shrine has fallen into disrepair. As she prays, Kaori notices children playing. But when they try to leave, one chases and transforms them into monsters. Perhaps Kaori identifies with the children forced to play, as circumstances forced her to work while growing up. Still, she grabs the net she purchased and races after the ghost pursuing a child.

In Welcome To Ghost Mansion Vol 1, Kaori captures the ghost. As she talks with Kamikiri, Kaori realizes the ghost is lonely. No one cares about Kamikiri anymore. Few visit the shrine, and no one maintains it. Like any successful businessperson, Kaori transforms a problem into an opportunity. If Humans don't want to live in Shinonome Mansion, Kaori will fill it with ghosts, demons, and monsters. Kaori can help them find jobs so they can pay her rent. While the ghosts discover what they enjoy doing, Kaori can restore her apartment building and discover the life her busy childhood denied her.

Art

Nebukuro’s ghosts resemble the possessed souls from horror movies. Their mouths enlarge and fill with sharpened teeth. Mouths sprout from other parts of their bodies. One even wears his head upside down. Then, there is the ghost that sits before a computer and slips on headphones. As he operates a call center, a mouth on his chest stretches into an open mouth smile.

Ghosts and humans often spring into action in Welcome To Ghost Mansion Vol 1. But Nebukuro never obscures the action with direction lines, explosive power, or sound effects. The action can be heartbreaking, such as when a ghost tortures itself by reliving its moment of death every day. Then there is the angry artist who never found an audience for her work.

Amid all the action, characters shine as they struggle to solve their problems. Perhaps the most troubled is Tsuzumi Kusakabe. The High Schooler comes from a family of exorcists and is anxious to prove herself. Yet Shinonome Mansion is in her territory. Instead of discouraging ghosts from haunting her apartments, Kaori keeps making friends with them!

Ayoub Bensidi writes large, uppercase letters into narrative boxes, dialogue balloons, and empty panel space. Off-panel dialogue appears in balloons with thick borders. Thoughts appear inside jagged ones. Sound effects may demand concentration, but it's worth slowing the pace to enjoy Welcome To Ghost Mansion Vol 1 a little longer. Thanks to Motoko Tamamuro and Jonathan Clements for translating Nebukuro’s story and Titan Manga for providing a copy for review.

Final Thoughts

When Kaori Shinonome pins her hopes on renovating an apartment building, she dreams of a carefree life sustained by investment income. Instead, Kaori discovers a life filled with hard work and friendships she didn't have time for in her youth. So what if they are ghosts? Whether living or dead, everyone gets a shot at happiness in Welcome To Ghost Mansion Vol 1.

TITAN COMICS UNLEASHES KRAKEN FROM CREATORS SHANNON ERIC DENTON AND DAVID HARTMAN!

A SUPERNATURAL HISTORICAL ADVENTURE LIKE NO OTHER, IN SEPTEMBER 2025

Writer & Monster Forge founder Shannon Eric Denton (Spider-Man, League of Legends), and artist David Hartman (Phantasm: Ravager, Transformers Prime) team up for an electrifying new adventure in KRAKEN, a brand-new original graphic novel which publishes in September 2025, from Titan Comics.

Set in alternate 1930s filled with dark magic, ancient horrors, and occult powers, KRAKEN will captivate fans of historical and supernatural thrillers. The graphic novel has been praised by high-profile talents including Rob Zombie (Halloween, The Devil’s Rejects) who calls KRAKEN “an insane ripping yarn”, and acclaimed creator Phil Hester (Green Arrow) who says KRAKEN “packs action, romance, high adventure, horror, and just straight up weirdness into every moment.”.

After disappearing for three years, esteemed adventurer Kraken returns to reality in search of allies to stop an evil sorceress from unleashing a horde of eldritch monsters on the world. Armed with a pistol and supernatural tentacles, the Kraken is loose!

Shannon Eric Denton and David Hartman are trailblazing creators with extensive careers in film, television, and comics. Denton is an award-winning director and writer, with credits spanning Disney, Sony, and Warner Brothers. Hartman, a Spectrum Award-winning artist, has had his work featured across comics, and games, notably credited on Transformers Prime and Phantasm Ravager

There’s a long list of pulp heroes I grew up with and as friends like Dave Stevens, Mike Mignola and Kevin Conran introduced their own to the pantheon I’ve wanted to do the same but with my own monstrous twist,” says writer, Shannon Denton. “Artist pals James Groman and Kevin Conran deserve a shout out for their early advice and especially to my stellar Monster Forge cohort David Hartman for bringing Kraken to life! And how about that sweet Mike Mignola cover as well!”

Artist David Hartman expressed his excitement working on the project, “When Shannon showed me the script for Kraken, I was hooked immediately! It’s a wild blend of pulp adventure, cosmic horror, and action-packed characters—everything I love to draw. This is just the beginning of an epic series we’re creating together, and I can’t wait for you to dive into the first book and everything else we have in store!”

Comic Shop Exclusive Cover by Mike Mignola

Praise for KRAKEN…

“Like only The Pirates of the Caribbean before it, Kraken packs action, romance, high adventure, horror, and just straight up weirdness into every moment.” Phil Hester

"Imagine if H.P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard co-wrote a seafaring epic... and then handed it to a talking skull for edits." Kevin Conran (Sky Captain: World of Tomorrow)

"Shannon Eric Denton spins an insane ripping yarn that will leave you wanting more Kraken in your life! The pages explode with an overload of monsters, nazis and pirates in the true David Hartman style! Brockmolla!” Rob Zombie (Devil’s Rejects, Halloween)

“Like a mash-up of Lovecraft and Indiana Jones, Kraken is a two-fisted horror tale that will delight. Hartman and Denton have created an epic graphic novel which will be (hopefully) the first of many.” Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-tep, The Beastmaster)

“Dastardly and long-extinct Golden Age villains are turning in their four-color newsprint graves as Denton and Hartman slouch, slither and shoot their way into the ranks of neo-monster comics madness with the horror-heroic debut of KRAKEN!” Dan Brereton (Nocturnals, Giantkiller)

“Indiana Jones mashed with Cosmic Horror, Kraken is a delight! Denton and Hartman create a colorful, bloody, action adventure featuring your new favorite monster-hero!” Rob Schrab (Scud The Disposable Assassin)

“A Helluva ride! Kraken takes an adventure pulp story vibe and mixes it up with Lovecraftian monsters and creates a wholly original story. Denton and Hartman pay it off with a great ending that makes me want to see these characters again!” Kevin VanHook (Bloodshot, Batman, Lobo)

“A swashbuckling horror yarn that combines the spirit of the Mummy with the panache of Errol Flynn. I ripped through this tale, eager for every page, filled with imagination and quirky humor that made me desperate for more. What a joyous, fun, book!” Jeremy Adams (Flash Gordon, Aquaman)

“The Kraken was a joy to read! Really harkened back to the 40's serial adventures with the perfect blend of wit and magic!” Steve Wang (Predator, The Monster Squad)
