While a visit to a Metropolis hospital gave Commander Lane a daughter, a visit to a hospital in Smallville cost Jordan Kent a brother. While Jordan had used his abilities to make life on the Kent farm better, he had refused Jonathan's request to share Kryptonian technology with neighboring farms. But Jonathan's death changes him. He decides that his adoptive brother was right. Whatever restrictions precluded him from helping other worlds died along with Krypton. 

He may go by another name. Earth may be his world now. Still, Jor-El vows to safeguard its inhabitants, and help people live longer, fuller lives. But how will altering Earth's technology change Human society? And will the same mistakes Jor-El's society made also doom the Earth?
