When her boss decides to close his business, Sono Yoshioka gets a wakeup call. She has drifted from one job to another since she graduated from college. Sono has never worked more than part-time. Now, with the COVID pandemic shutting businesses left and right, employers are deluged with applicants.
Sono realizes she has no job skills that can give her an edge. She has little money in the bank and still owes on her student debts. Can Sono find a new job? And what might her new employer teach her? Let's leap into Do Women Need Sex Entertainment Vol 1 and see!
Story
After a two-week job hunt, a friend's recommendation lands her an office job. Sono wonders why the business is on the less reputable side of town. When she goes inside, Sono sits at a computer and learns that her hunt-and-peck typing won't cut it. But when she visits the back room and finds the shelves stocked with sex toys, she realizes there is more to her new admin job than she anticipated.
In Do Women Need Sex Entertainment Vol 1, Sono feels ashamed to work in a male escort agency. She's angry at her friend, Miwako, for recommending it. Sono dislikes her boss. But the young men she schedules to meet with clients are nice to her. When they have a positive experience with their clients, they often bring Sono presents. And she discovers that escorts can help their clients with their self-esteem and strengthen their marriages.
But before she can learn all this, Sono must embrace courage. When she does, she discovers the kind and supportive nature of the male escort business. In addition to the industry's rules, Sono discovers how hard the young men work to master their skills and establish themselves in the industry.
As she bonds with the guys, Sono learns the importance of what they do. She helps them increase their clientele and advises them on complicated cases. In Yachinatsu’s story, Sono gradually realizes the underlying reasons why she has drifted along without finding her place in the world and making significant connections with potential spouses.
Art
Sono is a young blonde who binds her hair in a ponytail. Her facial expression can vary radically from one moment to another depending on her emotions. Her phone becomes a minor character, displaying notices, client lists, and important messages. Yachinatsu also separates chapters with a page introducing the significant characters in Do Women Need Sex Entertainment Vol 1.
Compared with Sono, her boss is heavy, bald, and wears sunglasses inside the office. The slim, attractive escorts treat her kindly and respectfully, which helps when Sono gets pressed into modeling for a massage class. She is afraid to disrobe so the guys can massage her. Yet by the time they are through, Sono feels comfortable with them unclothed.
Yachinatsu portrays occasional sex acts while explaining the do’s and don’ts of the profession. Words fill balloons, boxes, and Post-it notes, and appear in backgrounds. Skylar Rutan's dialogue and exposition are always easy to read, as the reader embarks on a fun and informative journey in Do Women Need Sex Entertainment Vol 1. Thanks to Titan Manga for providing a review copy.
