Royalty Free-For-All Joins EVO 2025 Ahead of Upcoming Kickstarter Launch

Las Vegas is known for its glitz and glamor but it’s never seen a show like Royalty Free-For-All! The upcoming party brawling game will be making its fighting game event debut at the upcoming EVO 2025, August 1st-3rd. The game has been selected by the show organizers to be included in its Indie Game Dev area, highlighting the next generation of fighting games made by up and coming developers from around the world.

EVO 2025 attendees will be able to visit the Indie Game Dev area for hands-on play with the latest pre-release build of Royalty Free-For-All, featuring the game’s full roster of iconic public domain characters like Lancelot, Nessie and Dorothy, all given a new fighting twist like you’ve never seen them before. As with every title in the Indie Game Dev area, the Royalty Free-For-All booth will be staffed by the game’s developers, giving visitors an opportunity to speak with them directly about their creative vision and love of fighting games or even challenge them to a match. An official Royalty Free-For-All tournament will be held during EVO. Attendees can sign up to participate on a first come, first served basis, and video highlights from the tournament will be shared on the official EVO social media channels once the event concludes.

Developed by AAAA Games, Royalty Free-For-All turns beloved public domain characters, locations, and tunes into a frenetic multiplayer battle like never before. It’s designed to be a true “pick up and play” experience keeping players of all skill levels in mind: Light, Strong, and Special attacks can be executed with a single button press whether the player is on the ground or in midair for a total of six possible attacks, plus a fast pace and familiar mobility techs for longtime platform fighting game fans. Players will be able to take the multiplayer fun online thanks to the engine’s use of rollback netcode, which allows for smooth quick-play matches with random opponents and private lobbies with friends.
